Homicide detectives were kept busy overnight with six murders recorded in South Trinidad, including a double and triple killing.
One of the victims has been identified as Micah Joseph of John Jules Street, Fyzabad.
The 26-year-old man was stabbed to death during an argument with another man who is allegedly involved with his former girlfriend. Joseph had gone to Easy Street to drop off his children when a dispute escalated into violence.
Police have detained a suspect.
Around 1:20 am, three men were shot dead inside a house at Sixth Street, Corinth Settlement, Ste Madeleine.
A teenager told police that he had left the house to walk his two dogs and, while returning through a track, heard about 15 gunshots. He then found his cousin, Clariey Kingfoo, lying on his back in a pool of blood at the entrance to the black front gate, his father, Martin Harripersad, 43, lying on a bed, and his father's friend, identified only as Joe, slumped on the bedroom floor. All three were already dead.
Information on the other two murders remained sketchy up to publication time. Preliminary reports indicated that two men were shot dead near FCB along Penal Rock Road, close to the Penal Police Station. Further details were not immediately available.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 are investigating. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
