A 29-year-old man was gunned down at his Arima home early on Friday morning.

Sources said Dexter McMillan was shot and killed at his home on Manan Road, off the Arima Old Road, just after 12 am.

Residents reported hearing gunshots but did not investigate until hours later, after sunrise, when McMillan’s body was found on his bed.

One resident told Guardian Media that McMillan was involved in a dispute with another man in the area over the cutting of a water pipeline.

Guardian Media visited the scene on Friday morning as officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau and the Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit canvassed the home for clues into the murder.

Several relatives had to be consoled as some residents loudly condemned the killing and called for justice.
