An emergency High Court injunction is now in effect, stopping jet ski operations in the Buccoo Reef Marine Park and the Pigeon Point Heritage Park.

The Tobago House of Assembly secured the order restricting named individuals and “persons unknown” from operating personal watercraft within the protected areas.

The injunction also bars the offering or solicitation of jet ski services, as well as the launching, retrieval, or use of the vessels, until further order of the court.

The THA said the move follows recent incidents and ongoing concerns about unsafe and unlawful activity within the marine parks.

The order was granted by Justice Sherlanne Pierre and takes immediate effect. Anyone who breaches it faces legal consequences.

The matter is set to return to court on May 1.
