Lyons secured her second title, since her first win in 2020, at the end of the Dimanche Gras show at the Queen's Park Savannah, early this morning.
She was the clear favourite on the night with her spiritual song "Blessings" receiving a lengthy standing ovation from both the Grand and North Stands, the latter of which reopened for the competition the first time since 2012.
She received $1 million and a Suzuki Vitara, courtesy Lifestyle Motors.
While Lyons' victory was well received by the large-than-average audience, the other results in the Calypso Monarch competition drew audible jeers as many in the audience were not satisfied with the placing of the other contestants.
"They cheat," one patron shouted.
"They (the judges) doing it again," another said.
However, their boos quickly turned into cheers as Lyons was announced as the eventual winner.
In second place was this year's National Action Cultural Committee Young King Rivaldo London, who sang "Water Thicker".
Nine time Chutney Soca Monarch Samraj "Rikki Jai" Jaimungal placed third with "Doh Spoil Meh Name".
Crowd favourite Karene Asche placed fifth with her fiery political commentary "Nobody Wins Until".
Last year's winner Helon Francis, who was also a crowd favourite, placed sixth with "Doh Forget".
While there were no issues with his performance at the venue, there was a reported drop in audio in the live broadcast of his performance.
The technical issue sparked conspiracy theories on social media, with some users suggesting that he was sabotaged for his political commentary.
