A woman who attempted to travel to St Kitts on a Caribbean Airlines flight was arrested after officers found cocaine and cash on her during a security check at Piarco International Airport.
Reports indicate that at 10:55 am on Monday (April 6, 2026), a Woman Estate Constable was operating a scanner at a security checkpoint when a female Trinidadian national from Carenage passed through the machine.
The officer observed anomalies during the scan and carried out a physical search of the passenger in a search room.
During the search, the officer allegedly found a pink balloon strapped around the woman’s waist containing 17 pellets, with a total of 281.5 grammes of cocaine.
Officers also searched the woman’s carry-on bag and found US$5,189 and TT$30.
Police arrested the woman in connection with the finds.
Investigations are ongoing.
