The West Indies stormed to victory against Zimbabwe by 107 runs in its first Super 8 match of the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup in Mumbai.
Batting first, the regional side posted a daunting 254 for six from its 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer top scored with 85 while Rovman Powell made 59.
Sherfane Rutherford hit an unbeaten 31 from 13 balls.
Zimbabwe’s chase was met with a clinical bowling performance from the Windies. Gudakesh Motie took four for 28 from his four overs to dismantle the Zimbabweans. Meanwhile Akeal Hosein had three wickets for 28 runs from his four overs.
Zimbabwe stumbled to 147 all out in 17.4 overs.
The regional side next play South Africa on Thursday.
