Wallerfield residents call for increased police patrols

Res­i­dents of Waller­field, Ari­ma, are call­ing on po­lice to in­crease pa­trols fol­low­ing a se­ries of rob­beries and break-ins with­in the last cou­ple of weeks.

In the lat­est in­ci­dent around 3:30 am on March 6, a 77-year-old pen­sion­er of Churchill Roo­sevelt High­way, Waller­field, and his 71-year-old wife were asleep in their bed­room when a loud noise woke them.

When the man checked, sev­en masked men al­leged­ly con­front­ed him, one of whom was armed with a gun and an­nounced a rob­bery.

The sus­pects re­port­ed­ly tied up the cou­ple and forced them to lie on the ground as they ran­sacked the house look­ing for cash and valu­ables.

The sus­pects lat­er stole two Sam­sung cell phones, sev­er­al pow­er tools, jew­ellery, and $500 in cash be­fore es­cap­ing in a sil­ver or grey Nis­san AD Wag­on.
