Veteran media videographer Phil Britton has died.
Britton passed away on Thursday night in the Intensive Care Unit at the San Fernando General Hospital, where he had been admitted since Sunday.
His passing has left colleagues across the media fraternity, family and friends mourning the loss of a dedicated journalist. Known for his commitment to his job, covering stories of national, human and cultural interest, particularly in south Trinidad, Britton continued to work despite long-standing health challenges.
Even while battling an autoimmune condition, he remained active in the field, determined not to allow his illness to define him.
Britton also spent several years working at TV6, where he covered stories in south Trinidad.
Many of his colleagues and friends remembered him as professional, considerate, deeply spiritual and devoted to his family.
Extending deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues, TTT Ltd, in a tribute, said, “TTT Ltd’s very own Phil Britton, a long-serving cameraman based in south Trinidad, has died. Phil was known not just for his technical skill, but for a tireless work ethic that saw him through decades of reporting.”
Britton was 57 years old and a father of one.
