Officers of the Central Division arrested two men in connection with reports of home invasion during an anti-crime exercise in the Couva Police District on Saturday.
Police said the intelligence-led operation was conducted between 9 am and 1 pm on February 21. Acting on information received, officers carried out surveillance along Southern Main Road and St John Road, St Margaret’s.
The exercise resulted in the arrest of two men, aged 34 and 45, both of Claxton Bay, in connection with home invasion reports.
During the operation, officers recovered items believed to be stolen property. These included multiple DeWalt power drills and grinders, battery chargers, hand tools, a Klein infrared voltage tester, an INGCO backpack, a Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G cellular phone, a 48-inch Hitachi flat screen television and an Amazon Firestick with accessories.
Police said the exercise was coordinated by Senior Superintendent Bhagwandeen, Superintendent Frank, ASP Reyes and Insp Joseph. Field supervision was carried out by Sgt Samuel, Sgt Ramdial, Cpl Motiram, Cpl Hall and Cpl Joseph, along with officers of the Couva CID and CDTF Area South.
Investigations are continuing.
Police said the operations form part of ongoing intelligence-driven policing and crime suppression efforts within the Central Division.
