T&TEC activates hotline for SEA exam day

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Elec­tric­i­ty Com­mis­sion (T&TEC) will ac­ti­vate an ad­di­tion­al hot­line for school prin­ci­pals and su­per­vi­sors ahead of the Sec­ondary En­trance As­sess­ment (SEA) ex­am­i­na­tion.

In a re­lease dat­ed March 23, 2026, T&TEC stat­ed that the hot­line is in­tend­ed to sup­port elec­tric­i­ty ser­vice at SEA cen­tres on Thurs­day March 26, 2026.

The hot­line will be op­er­a­tional from 8:00 a.m. on Wednes­day March 25, 2026 and will con­tin­ue un­til 3:00 p.m. on ex­am day.

Prin­ci­pals and su­per­vi­sors can re­port dis­rup­tions in elec­tric­i­ty ser­vice or elec­tri­cal safe­ty con­cerns by call­ing 794-4823 or 794-7264.

T&TEC stat­ed that its stan­dard Trou­ble Re­port num­bers, 800-BULB (2852) and 800-TTEC (8832), will re­main avail­able on a 24-hour ba­sis.

The com­mis­sion ad­vised that there will be no planned pow­er in­ter­rup­tions on the day of the ex­am­i­na­tion.

T&TEC stat­ed that the mea­sure is part of its arrange­ments for the SEA ex­am­i­na­tion pe­ri­od.

The com­mis­sion al­so ex­tend­ed wish­es to stu­dents writ­ing the ex­am­i­na­tion.

The SEA ex­am­i­na­tion is writ­ten by pri­ma­ry school stu­dents seek­ing place­ment in sec­ondary schools.

T&TEC stat­ed that it will mon­i­tor elec­tric­i­ty ser­vice at ex­am­i­na­tion cen­tres dur­ing the pe­ri­od cov­ered by the hot­line.

The com­mis­sion ad­vised that re­ports re­ceived through the hot­line will be ad­dressed by its teams.

T&TEC urged prin­ci­pals and su­per­vi­sors to use the hot­line num­bers if is­sues arise dur­ing the ex­am­i­na­tion pe­ri­od.
