Transit police recover two stolen vehicles

Two ve­hi­cles stolen at gun­point in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents were re­cov­ered on Mon­day af­ter­noon in the carpark of a St James busi­ness.

Po­lice said the SUV and van had been tak­en days ear­li­er from their own­ers in Tu­na­puna and Ch­agua­nas.

Af­ter a re­port was made, of­fi­cers from the Tran­sit Po­lice Unit Task Force, La Hor­quet­ta CID, Port of Spain Task Force and Besson Street CID car­ried out search­es.

En­quiries led of­fi­cers to the Dig­i­cel IMAX carpark, where the ve­hi­cles were found hid­den among oth­er cars.

The ex­er­cise was co-or­di­nat­ed by Supt Robert Joseph of the Tran­sit Po­lice Unit.
