The third edition of the Tobago Jazz and Music Weekend promises to have patrons swinging in more ways than one.
The annual event, organised by Black 2 Sugars, will be held from May 1 to 3 at the Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort in Lowlands.
The music weekend began in 2024 to fill the void left by the Tobago House of Assembly’s Tobago Jazz Experience and has continued to grow since its launch.
A golf event will get the ball rolling on May 1 from 8 am to 5 pm. Activities continue from 6 pm to 11 pm with Come Een, a back-in-times themed event.
On May 2, the signature Beachfront Jazz event takes place from 1 pm to 8 pm, while the festivities conclude with Fairways Jazz Under The Stars from 5 pm to 10 pm on May 3.
Patrons can expect live performances from renowned saxophonist Dr Jazmin Ghent, newly crowned Calypso Monarch Terri Lyons, Trinidad and Tobago-born bassist, steelpan player, arranger and composer Ron Reid, guitarist Theron Shaw and singer Llettesha Sylvester. Organisers said additional artistes will be announced closer to the event.
