Tobago fire officer killed in early morning crash

A To­ba­go fire of­fi­cer was killed in a road ac­ci­dent ear­ly this morn­ing along Mil­ford Road in Bon Ac­cord.

Po­lice said Jerome Jack was rid­ing a black Hon­da mo­tor­bike east along the road­way around 2.10 am when he col­lid­ed with a black Sub­aru Lega­cy sedan trav­el­ling in the op­po­site di­rec­tion near Mer­cury Ma­ri­na.

The im­pact threw Jack sev­er­al me­tres from the mo­tor­cy­cle, while the car crashed in­to a near­by sign.

Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer Dr Thomp­son ar­rived at the scene and pro­nounced Jack dead. The body was or­dered re­moved to the mor­tu­ary at the Scar­bor­ough Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

The con­di­tion of the dri­ver of the sedan was not im­me­di­ate­ly known.

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the crash.
