Teen girl among three charged with Princes Town man’s murder

A 17-year-old San Juan girl is one of three peo­ple charged with the mur­der of 25-year-old Sir Ja­mal Ram­per­sad last month.

Po­lice said the girl, to­geth­er with a 22-year-old La Hor­quet­ta man and a 36-year-old San­ta Cruz woman were charged by of­fi­cers of the Re­gion II Homi­cide Bu­reau on Thurs­day night.

Sources con­firmed the mi­nor was ar­rest­ed on Sun­day, while the woman was ar­rest­ed last Sat­ur­day and the man was ar­rest­ed on Jan­u­ary 26.

Ram­per­sad was last seen alive on the night of Jan­u­ary 14 af­ter hav­ing din­ner with rel­a­tives at a Curepe restau­rant.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, Ram­per­sad met with a woman he in­ter­act­ed with on In­sta­gram and told rel­a­tives that he would meet up with them at home.

His body was found in San Raphael, in the same gen­er­al area where his cell­phone was found some­time ear­li­er.

Ram­per­sad held dual cit­i­zen­ship be­tween T&T and the UK.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors sus­pect rob­bery was the mo­tive for the mur­der.
