Taxi driver stabbed and robbed in separate Penal attack

In a sep­a­rate in­ci­dent on Mon­day af­ter­noon, a 49-year-old taxi dri­ver was stabbed and robbed af­ter pick­ing up four pas­sen­gers in Pe­nal.

Po­lice said the man was hired at the Pe­nal to Siparia Taxi Stand and lat­er at­tacked up­on reach­ing Saney Trace, Siparia.

One sus­pect grabbed him around the neck while an­oth­er at­tempt­ed to stab him, in­jur­ing his hand. The as­sailants es­caped with his Maz­da Y12 wag­on, val­ued at $50,000.

The in­jured dri­ver was tak­en to the Siparia Health Cen­tre. Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing both in­ci­dents.
