A member of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service executive has confirmed the resignation of Snr Supt Roger Alexander on March 26.

Newsday received confirmation on March 26.

Some wondered whether Alexander might be entering the political arena as discussion of his resignation spread on social media.

The former TV6 crime show host has had a long career in policing. He became a household name through television shows Crime Watch and Beyond the Tape.

However, he had some legal challenges throughout his career.

He was suspended in 2019 but the matter was eventually discharged. He co-hosted the popular Beyond the Tape with journalist Marlan Hopkinson but was asked to no longer host after former independent senator Paul Richards questioned statements he made about gangs on the show.

He was no longer its co-host in 2024.

Before that he also co-hosted Crime Watch with Ian Alleyne. However, a public disagreement between them led to Alexander no longer being its co-host.
