”Soldiers” in regiment vehicle rob two in Maloney

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a re­port that four masked men in cam­ou­flage robbed two Mal­oney men and es­caped in what ap­peared to be a marked Reg­i­ment ve­hi­cle.

Of­fi­cers said the vic­tims, a 19-year-old and a 32-year-old, were lim­ing with oth­ers on the sec­ond floor of Build­ing 12, Mal­oney Gar­dens, at 10.45 pm on Mon­day when the men ap­proached them.

The at­tack­ers re­port­ed­ly iden­ti­fied them­selves as sol­diers but did not present any of­fi­cial iden­ti­fi­ca­tion. They stole $6,000 from one vic­tim and $1,000 from the oth­er be­fore get­ting in­to a ve­hi­cle bear­ing Reg­i­ment li­cence plates and dri­ving off.

Mal­oney po­lice vis­it­ed the scene and are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
