A 65-year-old man is in stable condition after an early morning attack at his Toco home on Sunday.
Police said the man was at his home on the Paria Main Road, San Souci, at around 6:10 am when he saw three bandits climbing through an open window.
The man confronted the intruders but was chopped on his hands and feet and overpowered by the attackers, who tied his arms and legs with electrical cords.
The bandits beat the man before stealing his two mobile phones and bank cards.
They escaped through the same open window a short while later.
Neighbours heard the commotion and took the wounded man to hospital where he underwent surgery for wounds sustained.
He is said to be in stable condition, recovering from his injuries.
