Prison officer arrested with drugs and ammo

A prison of­fi­cer has been ar­rest­ed fol­low­ing an in­tel­li­gence-led op­er­a­tion in Va­len­cia that led to the dis­cov­ery of am­mu­ni­tion and more than one kilo­gram of cannabis.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force car­ried out the op­er­a­tion on Fri­day be­tween 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm at a res­i­dence along Plan­ta­tion Road, Va­len­cia, un­der the State of Emer­gency Reg­u­la­tions 2025.

Dur­ing a search of a bed­room, of­fi­cers found a black knap­sack con­tain­ing six trans­par­ent wrap­pings of cannabis weigh­ing ap­prox­i­mate­ly 1,014 grammes, along with one round of 9-mil­lime­tre am­mu­ni­tion.

Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tors processed the scene, and the sus­pect was ar­rest­ed and charged with pos­ses­sion of cannabis for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion.
