Prime Minister oversees promotion of Coast Guard commander

Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar yes­ter­day presided over the pro­mo­tion of Cap­tain Akhen­aton Isaac, who has ad­vanced to the rank of Cap­tain and Com­man­der of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard.

Ac­cord­ing to the re­lease, Cap­tain Isaac’s wife at­tend­ed the cer­e­mo­ny and re­placed his shoul­der marks as part of the for­mal pro­ceed­ings, which marked a sig­nif­i­cant mo­ment in his mil­i­tary ca­reer.

The Prime Min­is­ter ex­pressed con­fi­dence in Cap­tain Isaac’s lead­er­ship and pro­fes­sion­al­ism, and reaf­firmed the Gov­ern­ment’s com­mit­ment to sup­port­ing the De­fence Force in its man­date to safe­guard the coun­try’s sov­er­eign­ty and se­cu­ri­ty.

The cer­e­mo­ny al­so in­clud­ed the Min­is­ter of De­fence, the Min­is­ter of For­eign Af­fairs, and the Chief of De­fence Staff, Com­man­der Don Po­lo.
