Police probe death of man who fell after jumping a fence

In­ves­ti­ga­tors con­tin­ue en­quiries in­to the death of a man, iden­ti­fied as Ryan John, who was found on the premis­es of a house on Rail­way Road, San­gre Grande.

John re­port­ed­ly fell and sus­tained in­juries af­ter at­tempt­ing to jump a fence.

He was tak­en to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal, where he was treat­ed and lat­er suc­cumbed to his in­juries.

A post-mortem con­duct­ed re­vealed that he died as a re­sult of blunt force in­juries.

Po­lice said John was found on the premis­es of a house on Rail­way Road, San­gre Grande, and res­i­dents raised an alarm. Of­fi­cers were told he at­tempt­ed to jump a fence to flee but fell and in­jured him­self in the process.

He was de­tained by res­i­dents, who con­tact­ed the po­lice.

Of­fi­cers of the San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion re­spond­ed and took him to the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment. He suc­cumbed to his in­juries a few days lat­er.

John was known to po­lice and was be­lieved to have strug­gled with drug ad­dic­tion is­sues. - Ralph Ban­warie
