Petit Valley man killed while showering; Arouca resident chopped to death

The mur­der count con­tin­ues to in­crease even as T&T re­mains un­der a State of Emer­gency (SoE).

The lat­est homi­cide oc­curred on Mon­day night in Pe­tit Val­ley.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Jaron Hur­dle, 31.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the con­struc­tion work­er/fab­ri­ca­tor was shot mul­ti­ple times as he show­ered out­side his mod­est home at the cor­ner of Ab­dool Lane and Pi­o­neer Dri­ve.

Rel­a­tives re­port­ed hear­ing a vol­ley of gun­shots around 8 pm.

A fe­male rel­a­tive who would have last spo­ken to Hur­dle around 12.30 pm on Mon­day told po­lice she im­me­di­ate­ly called his cell phone but was un­suc­cess­ful in con­tact­ing him.

She called a male rel­a­tive and asked him to check on Hur­dle, and the man dis­cov­ered him dead in the show­er area.

Hur­dle, who had been clad in a pair of green box­ers, had been shot mul­ti­ple times about the body.

Po­lice said ev­i­dence col­lect­ed at the scene in­clud­ed 21 spent nine-mil­lime­tre shell cas­ings.

And in a sep­a­rate in­ci­dent in Arou­ca on Mon­day, a man iden­ti­fied as Is­rael “Rat” Ram­sa­hai was dis­cov­ered ly­ing dead on his bed.

Po­lice said the 33-year-old of Fifth Av­enue, Bon Air Gar­dens, Arou­ca, had been chopped mul­ti­ple times.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors re­cov­ered a Chi­nese chop­per from the scene.

A 65-year-old male rel­a­tive told po­lice he last saw Ram­sa­hai around 4 am on May 4, as he re­turned from a wake in the area.

The rel­a­tive re­port­ed­ly awoke around 2.27 pm, and up­on check­ing on Ram­sa­hai, he found the bed­room door open and saw his bloody body on the bed.
