The murder count continues to increase even as T&T remains under a State of Emergency (SoE).
The latest homicide occurred on Monday night in Petit Valley.
Police identified the victim as Jaron Hurdle, 31.
Investigators said the construction worker/fabricator was shot multiple times as he showered outside his modest home at the corner of Abdool Lane and Pioneer Drive.
Relatives reported hearing a volley of gunshots around 8 pm.
A female relative who would have last spoken to Hurdle around 12.30 pm on Monday told police she immediately called his cell phone but was unsuccessful in contacting him.
She called a male relative and asked him to check on Hurdle, and the man discovered him dead in the shower area.
Hurdle, who had been clad in a pair of green boxers, had been shot multiple times about the body.
Police said evidence collected at the scene included 21 spent nine-millimetre shell casings.
And in a separate incident in Arouca on Monday, a man identified as Israel “Rat” Ramsahai was discovered lying dead on his bed.
Police said the 33-year-old of Fifth Avenue, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, had been chopped multiple times.
Investigators recovered a Chinese chopper from the scene.
A 65-year-old male relative told police he last saw Ramsahai around 4 am on May 4, as he returned from a wake in the area.
The relative reportedly awoke around 2.27 pm, and upon checking on Ramsahai, he found the bedroom door open and saw his bloody body on the bed.
