Parts stolen from Mayaro lifeguard tower

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of parts from a life­guard tow­er at the beach near Beau­mont Road in Ma­yaro.

The theft was dis­cov­ered around 10 a.m. on Mon­day when a life­guard ar­rived for du­ty and found sec­tions of the tow­er miss­ing.

Stolen were part of the rail­ing on the en­try and ex­it ramp, made of com­pos­ite plas­tic ma­te­r­i­al mea­sur­ing about eight feet long, along with sec­tions of the seat base and back­rest in­side the tow­er. The val­ue of the stolen items had not been de­ter­mined at the time of the re­port.
