Police are investigating the theft of parts from a lifeguard tower at the beach near Beaumont Road in Mayaro.
The theft was discovered around 10 a.m. on Monday when a lifeguard arrived for duty and found sections of the tower missing.
Stolen were part of the railing on the entry and exit ramp, made of composite plastic material measuring about eight feet long, along with sections of the seat base and backrest inside the tower. The value of the stolen items had not been determined at the time of the report.
Mayaro Police are investigating.
