A 32-year-old man was shot dead at his South Oropouche home late Thursday night.
Police identified the victim as Dillon Bunsee, a straightener and painter of Warden Road, South Oropouche.
According to police reports, officers were on mobile patrol in the Oropouche district at about 11.18 pm when they received reports of loud explosions along Warden Road.
When officers arrived at Bunsee's home, they found him lying on his back in the garage area with apparent gunshot wounds to the head and neck. Several spent shells were also found at the scene.
Bunsee was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 11.44 pm.
Homicide Crime Scene Investigators later processed the scene and recovered six 9mm spent shell casings marked "Luger 9mm".
Investigators were told that around 11 pm, Bunsee was liming at his home with his girlfriend, 24-year-old Naomi Ramdhanie, and two other men identified only as Cameron Saitoo and "Goon", when a man entered the garage area armed with a firearm.
The suspect was described as being of East Indian descent, slim build, light brown complexion, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, clean-shaven, and dressed in a black camouflage cap and black hoodie.
Police said the suspect fired several shots at Bunsee before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Investigations are continuing.
