One man was arrested and a firearm, ammunition and a bulletproof vest were seized during anti-crime operations in the South Western and Northern Divisions this week.
In the first exercise, officers of the Cumuto Criminal Investigations Department conducted an operation between 1 pm and 4 pm on Thursday. Officers went to Train Line Road, Malabar, where they searched an abandoned structure.
During the search, officers found one magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition and one blue bulletproof vest. No arrests were made in connection with that find.
In a separate exercise in the South Western Division, Task Force officers conducted an operation in the Siparia district around 10.15 pm on Wednesday. Officers executed a search warrant at the home of a 45-year-old suspect.
During the search, officers found one revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition. The suspect was at the house at the time of the search.
He was arrested in connection with the find. Investigations are continuing.
