One suspect was arrested and three firearms and quantities of ammunition seized during Operation Secure D’ Vibes exercises this week.

Officers of the Gang and Intelligence Unit went to the Jade Court area where they searched an abandoned structure. The search led to the discovery of a high-powered rifle wrapped in plastic.

The operation was spearheaded by Snr Supt Bhagwandeen, Supt Frank, Supt Glodon and ASP Hernandez.

In a separate exercise in the Western Division, Gang and Intelligence Unit personnel conducted checks in the Carenage, West End and Four Roads districts between 4 pm and 9 pm on February 20.

Around 7.30 pm, officers were along La Puerta Avenue, Diego Martin, when they arrested a 25-year-old man for possession of a Glock 23 pistol loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition.
