The Old Hilarians’ Association of the Bishop Anstey High School has appointed a new executive committee to serve for the 2025–2027 term, with a stated focus on rebuilding activity within the association and strengthening links among alumni and with the school.

The newly constituted executive is made up of past students who have volunteered to take on leadership roles at a time when the association is seeking to increase engagement and participation. The group has identified improving communication with alumni, restoring momentum to its programmes and encouraging greater involvement from members as immediate priorities.

The association said on Wednesday the new executive intends to place particular emphasis on supporting current students through mentorship and other initiatives designed to connect past and present Hilarians. The aim is to create practical opportunities for alumni to contribute, while maintaining the traditions associated with the school.

The association said the work of the executive is being carried out on a voluntary basis, with members contributing their time and expertise in support of the organisation and the wider school community. It noted that while the association remains rooted in its long-standing traditions, there is recognition of the need to adapt to changing expectations among alumni and students.

The Old Hilarians’ Association has also issued a call for alumni to re-engage with its activities and to support the work of the new executive, as efforts continue to rebuild a more active and connected alumni body.

The executive committee for the 2025–2027 term is led by president Camille Frederick, with Sheyna Weston serving as vice president. Heidi Hosein has been appointed secretary, while Gail Cambridge-Plaza takes responsibility as treasurer. Celeste Augustine will serve as assistant secretary and Shari Almaralis as assistant treasurer.

Additional roles include Dr Darlene Harris, who will work with the strategic fundraising committee, Simone Creed with responsibility for social media, and Valerie Bowen representing the membership.

The association said the new leadership team represents a mix of skills and experience and is expected to guide its activities over the next two years as it seeks to re-establish a stronger presence among alumni and contribute more consistently to the life of the school.
