Mayaro MP hosts health fair in Biche

Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Ma­yaro Nicholas Mor­ris part­nered with the East­ern Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty and Se­wa TT to host a com­mu­ni­ty health fair at Biche Sec­ondary School on Sun­day.

The event of­fered free gen­er­al health screen­ings, HIV vol­un­tary coun­selling and test­ing, health ed­u­ca­tion, den­tal ser­vices and vi­sion screen­ing for res­i­dents.

Mor­ris said the ini­tia­tive was aimed at im­prov­ing ac­cess to pub­lic health­care ser­vices for peo­ple in rur­al com­mu­ni­ties.

Ac­cord­ing to the re­lease, the health fair is the third or­gan­ised by Mor­ris, fol­low­ing sim­i­lar events in Rio Claro and Ma­yaro. It fol­lows a mul­ti-agency gov­ern­ment out­reach pro­gramme held at the Ma­yaro Civic Cen­tre in May.
