Man shot dead in Enterprise

A 33-year-old man was killed on Sat­ur­day morn­ing in what po­lice said was a gang-re­lat­ed in­ci­dent.

Of­fi­cers re­port­ed that around 9:24 am they re­spond­ed to an anony­mous call about a shoot­ing. 

On ar­rival, they found the body of Dwayne Baynes at the side of the road with a bi­cy­cle be­tween his legs. 

Baynes had been rid­ing along Mano Trace, En­ter­prise, when he was shot.

The welder from Crown Trace, En­ter­prise, died at the scene.

Po­lice re­cov­ered five 9mm spent shells and said rob­bery was ruled out as a mo­tive, as Baynes had $607, a pack of cig­a­rettes, a lighter, and a bunch of keys on him.

A bot­tle con­tain­ing what ap­peared to be grey, rock-like sub­stances was al­so found near­by.
