A 29-year-old Princes Town man has been sentenced to 16 months’ imprisonment with hard labour after pleading guilty to warehouse breaking and larceny.
The accused appeared before the Master of the South Court C on March 23, where he entered a guilty plea and was sentenced. Police said the matter was investigated by officers of the Tableland Police Station.
The charge relates to an incident between 5 pm on January 14 at 12:45 am and January 15 at a warehouse at North Trace, New Grant. Police said the building was broken into and items were taken.
The owner secured the premises earlier that evening and later received a report of activity. Officers responded and found a door on the eastern side of the building forced open.
Police said cash and small power tools valued at $29,430 were stolen. No permission was given for the removal of the items.
