Man found shot dead outside bar in Kelly Village

A 38-year-old man was found shot dead in the car park of a bar in Kel­ly Vil­lage ear­ly Sat­ur­day.

Po­lice said they re­ceived a re­port of loud ex­plo­sions around 2.45 a.m. and, on ar­rival, were di­rect­ed to the body of Gabriel Si­mon, which was ly­ing in the car park to the front of the bar. 

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, Si­mon was last seen alive around 2.25 a.m. when he at­tempt­ed to sep­a­rate his broth­er and a woman who were ar­gu­ing in­side the bar. Af­ter they went their sep­a­rate ways, he walked out­side to smoke a cig­a­rette. Sev­er­al loud ex­plo­sions were heard about fif­teen min­utes lat­er, and he was found ly­ing mo­tion­less.

He was found on his back, wear­ing a red sweat suit and white-and-red mul­ti-coloured sneak­ers, with his arms out­stretched. He had ap­par­ent gun­shot in­juries to the face.
