Man caught red handed in Port of Spain break-in

A 25-year-old man from Laven­tille is in po­lice cus­tody af­ter he was caught in­side a busi­ness place in down­town Port of Spain on Sat­ur­day night.

Po­lice said the busi­ness own­er se­cured the premis­es and left around mid­day. He said around 9 pm, he re­ceived a call from some­one in the area re­port­ing the prop­er­ty had been bro­ken in­to and a stranger was in­side.

The own­er con­tact­ed po­lice and of­fi­cers from the Port of Spain Task Force re­spond­ed. On en­try, of­fi­cers found the sus­pect in­side the store and ar­rest­ed him.

The man was tak­en to the Port of Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment for mi­nor in­juries be­fore be­ing de­tained.

Of­fi­cers from the Port of Spain CID are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
