Liberty Caribbean named Diamond sponsor of CANTO Connect 2026

Lib­er­ty Caribbean has been named the Di­a­mond Spon­sor of CAN­TO Con­nect 2026, the Caribbean’s ma­jor telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions and ICT con­fer­ence, sched­uled for Feb­ru­ary 1 to 3 at the Hy­att Re­gency Ho­tel in Port of Spain, Trinidad and To­ba­go.

The telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions provider, which op­er­ates Flow, BTC and Lib­er­ty Busi­ness, will take a lead­ing role in the con­fer­ence, with its chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Inge Smidts set to de­liv­er the open­ing-day keynote ad­dress.

CAN­TO Con­nect 2026 will run un­der the theme “El­e­vate the Caribbean: From con­nec­tiv­i­ty to glob­al com­pet­i­tive­ness,” fo­cus­ing on strength­en­ing the re­gion’s dig­i­tal econ­o­my and po­si­tion­ing the Caribbean on the glob­al stage.

“CAN­TO Con­nect is where the re­gion’s dig­i­tal fu­ture is de­fined,” Smidts said. “As the Di­a­mond Spon­sor, we are not sim­ply sup­port­ing this event – we are re­in­forc­ing our lead­er­ship role in dri­ving re­silient net­works, trans­for­ma­tive in­no­va­tion, and in­clu­sive dig­i­tal growth through­out the Caribbean.”

The con­fer­ence will bring to­geth­er in­dus­try lead­ers and de­ci­sion-mak­ers to ex­am­ine is­sues shap­ing the re­gion’s dig­i­tal de­vel­op­ment, in­clud­ing in­tel­li­gent con­nec­tiv­i­ty, in­no­va­tion root­ed in Caribbean iden­ti­ty and a peo­ple-first ap­proach to tech­nol­o­gy.

Lib­er­ty Caribbean’s spon­sor­ship places the com­pa­ny at the cen­tre of dis­cus­sions on re­gion­al con­nec­tiv­i­ty and dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion, along­side CAN­TO and oth­er stake­hold­ers in the telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions and ICT sec­tor.

The part­ner­ship aligns Lib­er­ty Caribbean and CAN­TO around a shared fo­cus on con­nect­ing peo­ple, sup­port­ing busi­ness­es and en­abling gov­ern­ments through telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions in­fra­struc­ture and pol­i­cy ini­tia­tives.
