A Laventille man who had just returned home from buying groceries was killed as he drove into his yard on Tuesday night.
Shawn Mc Lean, 47, of Upper Wharton Street, Laventille, and Parris Boulevard, Morvant, was shot multiple times around 8:55 pm on December 30.
The shooting at Upper Wharton Street left Mc Lean’s common-law wife in shock, while nearby residents seemed unbothered.
Reports indicate Mc Lean left home around 7:45 pm to go to the grocery store, and upon his return just over an hour later, gunshots were heard coming from outside.
Upon checking, Mc Lean’s wife found that his black Kia Rio had crashed into a wall and he was slumped over the steering wheel.
Investigators recovered 18 spent 9-millimetre and 12 spent 5.56-millimetre shell casings at the scene.
