Kidnapped Clarabelle Tardieu released after month

Clara­belle Tardieu has been re­leased af­ter more than a month in cap­tiv­i­ty fol­low­ing her ab­duc­tion from Monos Is­land.

Se­nior po­lice of­fi­cials con­firmed a ran­som was paid for Clara­belle Tardieu’s re­lease but de­clined fur­ther com­ment.

Guardian Me­dia con­firmed the 47-year-old was freed dur­ing the ear­ly hours of Thurs­day along the North Coast of Trinidad and lat­er tak­en to the North­ern Di­vi­sion. She was trans­port­ed for med­ical treat­ment and re­unit­ed with rel­a­tives short­ly af­ter her re­lease.

Tardieu and her hus­band, Der­rick Tardieu, 70, were tak­en by armed men from their Monos Is­land home on De­cem­ber 6.

Her hus­band was freed on De­cem­ber 17 af­ter a ran­som was paid.
