The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued a yellow-level hazardous seas alert for the northern and eastern exposed coastlines, including offshore areas, from 4 pm today (Monday) until 6 pm on Thursday 5 March 2026.
Sea conditions are expected to deteriorate, with wave heights between 2.5 and 3 metres due to strong winds.
The rough seas pose risks for fishing and small craft operations, while spring tides may exacerbate conditions at seawalls.
Strong rip currents also present a danger to swimmers and beachgoers.
Authorities advise all marine interests to exercise caution and for beach users to follow lifeguards’ instructions.
