

Police seized two guns and quantities of ammunition during an anti-crime operation by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force in both the Port of Spain and North Eastern Divisions in the early morning hours of April 1 and 2.
Reports say between 1 am and 5 am on March 2, police went to Second Caledonia, Laventille, and searched a bushy area where a man they described as a suspect was seen standing.

Officers found one assault rifle, loaded with a magazine with three rounds of 5.56 ammunition.
On April 1, between 10.45 am and 1 pm, police went to Morvant and Laventille, where they found one Beretta pistol, loaded with a magazine with 15 rounds of ammunition, as well as 14 additional rounds of assorted ammunition.

A quantity of cannabis was also found, but no additional details were provided.
Also, on March 1, on St Paul Street, police found 15 rounds of nine mm ammunition in an abandoned lot during a search between 9 am and 5 pm.
