Guaico man denied bail for robbery, ammo possession

A 33-year-old Guaico man has been re­mand­ed in­to cus­tody when he ap­peared be­fore the High Court on Ash Wednes­day to face charges of rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion, pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion and pos­ses­sion of ap­pa­ra­tus.

Po­lice said the charges stemmed from a rob­bery at San Louis Road Ex­ten­sion, Guaico, San­gre Grande, on Jan­u­ary 29.

Of­fi­cers of the San­gre Grande CID viewed CCTV footage of the in­ci­dent and ob­tained a search war­rant at the man's Moolchan Street, home where they found ev­i­dence.

He was ar­rest­ed on Feb­ru­ary 12 with 21 rounds of 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion.

Sources con­firmed the man was al­so placed on iden­ti­fi­ca­tion pa­rade ear­li­er this week and was pos­i­tive­ly iden­ti­fied.

He is ex­pect­ed to re­turn to court on March 26.
