Four held in police exercises across divisions

Four peo­ple are in cus­tody fol­low­ing sep­a­rate po­lice ex­er­cis­es in the North East­ern and East­ern Di­vi­sions tar­get­ing vi­o­lent crime and il­le­gal firearms.

Po­lice said two men, aged 22 and 25, both of San Juan, were ar­rest­ed dur­ing an Op­er­a­tion Steady Guard ex­er­cise on Mon­day in con­nec­tion with a wound­ing with in­tent re­port. In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve the pair stabbed a male vic­tim mul­ti­ple times dur­ing an in­ci­dent in the San Juan dis­trict on Sun­day.

In a sep­a­rate ex­er­cise in Mor­vant, of­fi­cers of the In­ter-Agency Task Force de­tained a man along Up­per La­dy Young Road af­ter he was found with a shot­gun and a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion.

Mean­while, in the East­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers based in Rio Claro ar­rest­ed an­oth­er man on Sun­day af­ter he was al­leged­ly found with a home­made shot­gun and sev­er­al 12-gauge car­tridges.
