Family attacked in Penal home invasion

A fa­ther was alert­ed to in­trud­ers in­side his Pe­nal home by the screams of his daugh­ter dur­ing a vi­o­lent home in­va­sion on Tues­day night.

Po­lice said that around 9.30 pm the man locked his house on Rochard Road and went to bed. Just be­fore 11 pm, he was awak­ened by his daugh­ter’s screams and saw four masked men armed with cut­lass­es in­side the liv­ing room.

The sus­pects de­mand­ed cash and jew­ellery and tied up the fa­ther, his daugh­ter and four oth­er rel­a­tives. They ran­sacked the house, steal­ing $15,000, cell­phones and jew­ellery, be­fore es­cap­ing in the fa­ther’s white Nis­san Wingroad.

Bar­rack­pore po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
