The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) and Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre have finalised an 11 per cent wage increase for workers covering two periods: June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2022, and June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2025.
According to the union, the company and the CWU reached the settlement bilaterally, with the union maintaining its position on the value of its members while also considering the financial implications on the hotel’s viability.
The union said its members signalled strong support throughout the process.
Secretary General Joanne Ogeer has concluded her second successful negotiation and thanked the company for what she described as meaningful stakeholder engagement. She said she continues to be strengthened by her executive, members and branch representatives who showed solidarity during talks.
“Onto TSTT now,” she said.
