CPO meets CGWTU on workers’ agreement

Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer Com­man­der Dr Daryl Din­di­al to­day met with the Ex­ec­u­tive of the Con­trac­tors and Gen­er­al Work­ers Trade Union fol­low­ing the sign­ing of re­vised terms and con­di­tions for the pe­ri­ods 2014–2016 and 2017–2019.

The re­vised terms were signed on April 24, 2025.

Com­man­der Din­di­al said the meet­ing ad­dressed mat­ters aris­ing un­der the agree­ment af­fect­ing dai­ly-rat­ed work­ers of the San Fer­nan­do City Cor­po­ra­tion. He said dis­cus­sions al­so cov­ered ex­ist­ing terms and con­di­tions out­side of wage ne­go­ti­a­tions.

Com­man­der Din­di­al stat­ed that the ses­sion al­lowed for di­a­logue on is­sues im­pact­ing dai­ly-rat­ed em­ploy­ees and the ap­pli­ca­tion of the agree­ment.

He said the en­gage­ment formed part of con­tin­ued dis­cus­sions be­tween the Of­fice of the Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer and the union on mat­ters con­cern­ing dai­ly-rat­ed work­ers.

In clos­ing, Com­man­der Din­di­al said the union re­mained com­mit­ted to its dai­ly-rat­ed work­force. He said wel­fare, ben­e­fits and work­ing con­di­tions con­tin­ued to be ad­dressed through en­gage­ment be­tween the par­ties.

Com­man­der Din­di­al thanked Pres­i­dent Gen­er­al De Bique-Meade for lead­er­ship dur­ing the process. He al­so thanked mem­bers of the Ex­ec­u­tive for their par­tic­i­pa­tion in the dis­cus­sions.

The meet­ing forms part of on­go­ing talks be­tween the Of­fice of the Chief Per­son­nel Of­fi­cer and the Con­trac­tors and Gen­er­al Work­ers Trade Union on is­sues re­lat­ed to terms and con­di­tions of em­ploy­ment for dai­ly-rat­ed work­ers.
