Chief Personnel Officer Dr Daryl Dindial has confirmed that the 5% offer on salary and Cost of Living Allowance, extended prior to the 2025 elections, remains in place, despite calls from Fire Service Associations for a review of existing allowances.
The Fire Officers’ Association have committed to submitting a formal response on salary and COLA.
In a media release the Chief Personnel Officer said he met with executives of the 1st and 2nd Division Fire Service Associations today at the Personnel Department to address concerns affecting Trinidad and Tobago fire officers.
Representing the 2nd Division, President Keon Guy raised issues including salary negotiations, time-off arrangements, and eligibility for the EMT allowance, emphasising the need for ongoing dialogue and timely resolutions to maintain morale and operational efficiency within the Fire Service.
Commander Dindial described the discussions as open and respectful, allowing both Divisions to clearly present their positions. He reaffirmed his commitment to carefully considering the matters raised and to continued engagement with the Associations.
