Cops find gun, ammo, transmitter in Tunapuna burger cart

SHANE SU­PERVILLE

A se­ries of pa­trols and search­es in Tu­na­puna led to the seizure of a gun, am­mu­ni­tion and a wire­less ra­dio ear­ly on Mon­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers vis­it­ed Bam­boo Trace, Tu­na­puna, at 12:00 am, where they searched a white burg­er cart and found a black plas­tic bag con­tain­ing a black re­volver, one round of .38 am­mu­ni­tion and nine rounds of 5.56 am­mu­ni­tion.

A black Baofeng wire­less trans­mit­ter al­so was found.

No one was ar­rest­ed in re­la­tion to the items.

Po­lice al­so car­ried out search­es in sev­er­al neigh­bour­hoods in Curepe, St Au­gus­tine, Tu­na­puna and El Do­ra­do, but found noth­ing il­le­gal.
