Champs Fleurs man arrested; four vehicles seized

A Champs Fleurs man was ar­rest­ed and four ve­hi­cles seized dur­ing an an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion on Mon­day.

Be­tween 4:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., of­fi­cers of the An­ti-Ex­tor­tion Unit con­duct­ed an in­tel­li­gence-led ex­er­cise in the St Joseph Po­lice Dis­trict fol­low­ing re­ports of de­mand­ing mon­ey by men­aces.

Of­fi­cers went to an ad­dress along Williams Street, Champs Fleurs, where they ar­rest­ed a 32-year-old man.

Po­lice al­so seized four ve­hi­cles pend­ing in­quiries. The ve­hi­cles are a Nis­san Y12, a Nis­san B15 and two Nis­san Ti­i­da mo­tor ve­hi­cles.

Po­lice said in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.

The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by ACP Smith and su­per­vised by Sgt Bac­chus, Cpl Baksh and Cpl Ram­per­sad.
