A 47-year-old cashier lost her vehicle in a robbery last evening in Barrackpore.

Police reported that at 8.10 p.m., the woman was sitting in her white Nissan B-14 near Lakhan’s Bar on Papourie Road when two masked men approached her. Both wore dark clothing and black balaclavas.

One suspect announced a robbery and pulled Persad from the driver’s seat. The men then drove off in her vehicle.

The car, valued at $15,000, also contained her Nokia cellphone and $1,200 in cash.

Officers from the San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department, led by PC Gosine, visited the scene, interviewed witnesses and canvassed the area for CCTV footage, but found none.

Investigations are continuing.
