Carapichaima mason charged with Breedy murder

A 27-year-old Cara­pichaima ma­son has been charged with the mur­der of 25-year-old Sha­keem Breedy, who was shot dead in De­cem­ber last year.

Mal­colm Quintin ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Rhea Liebert in the High Court’s North Court B on Wednes­day.

He was al­so charged with wound­ing with in­tent, shoot­ing with in­tent, pos­ses­sion of a firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion.

Po­lice said Breedy was vis­it­ing a woman at her Cen­tral Di­vi­sion home on De­cem­ber 4 when two armed men, dressed in black, ex­it­ed a black Nis­san Ti­i­da and opened fire.

Breedy and the woman were tak­en to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where he died.

Quintin was charged on Tues­day fol­low­ing ad­vice from the Act­ing Deputy DPP.

The mat­ter re­turns to court on Sep­tem­ber 18 for a sta­tus hear­ing.
