Blue Wave Harmony returning to service today

The Port Au­thor­i­ty of Trinidad and To­ba­go (PATT) has ad­vised that in­ter­na­tion­al clas­si­fi­ca­tion sur­vey­ors, com­mon­ly re­ferred to as “class”, have cleared the ves­sel Blue Wave Har­mo­ny and it is re­turn­ing to in­ter-is­land op­er­a­tions to­day.

PATT said all re­pair works on the ves­sel were ful­ly in­spect­ed, passed and cer­ti­fied by the rel­e­vant in­ter­na­tion­al class sur­vey­ors and the flag state ad­min­is­tra­tion. The ves­sel has re­ceived the re­quired ap­provals to re­sume ser­vice.

PATT re­it­er­at­ed that the Blue Wave Har­mo­ny is re­turn­ing to ser­vice hav­ing met all re­quired in­ter­na­tion­al safe­ty, reg­u­la­to­ry and cer­ti­fi­ca­tion stan­dards.

As part of the fi­nal phase be­fore en­ter­ing com­mer­cial op­er­a­tions, the ves­sel will un­der­go fur­ther sea tri­als with car­go, in­clud­ing goods above 7,000 kilo­grammes, con­struc­tion ma­te­ri­als, dan­ger­ous goods and live­stock.

Fol­low­ing the com­ple­tion of these sea tri­als, the Blue Wave Har­mo­ny will en­ter full com­mer­cial ser­vice on the in­ter-is­land sea bridge.

The ves­sel is sched­uled to de­part Port of Spain at 2 pm and Scar­bor­ough at 11 pm.
