A 21-year-old Belmont man is being treated for gunshot wounds after an attack near his home on Sunday night.
Police said the man was sitting on an empty beer case near a shop along Serrano Road at 7:20 pm when a heavily tinted dark green Kia SUV approached.
A gunman dressed in black got out of the vehicle and shot the man in the left leg before fleeing. The attacker then re-entered the SUV, which sped off.
Passers-by took the injured man to hospital.
Officers of the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) and the Port of Spain Gang Unit visited the scene.
Investigators found several spent 9-millimetre shell casings.
