The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Office has discontinued its adverse weather alert, moving conditions to a green level as the risk of impactful weather decreases.

In a public warning issued at 8.44 am today, the Met Office said brief showers are still expected at times, with a low 30 per cent chance of isolated heavier showers or a thunderstorm over southern Trinidad. It added that gusty winds may still occur near showers.

According to the release, major rivers remain elevated but have not reached threshold levels. With no substantial rainfall expected for the rest of the day, the Met Office said no significant rise in water levels is anticipated and rivers should continue a slow downward trend.

The public is advised to stay aware of changes in weather conditions and to exercise caution during showers with brief gusty winds.
